About the program and speaker:
Dan Goodgame is senior adviser to the owner of Texas Monthly, a prize-winning magazine that has published the best storytelling about the Lone Star State for 52 years. He served as editor in chief of TM for six years, through the end of 2024.
Since he took the helm in 2019 — the same year the magazine was purchased by Randa Duncan Williams — TM has become one of the few publications in the country that is growing in audience, revenue, and staff. During a period of widespread layoffs and closures among its peers, TM has doubled its editorial team to more than 60 journalists, including ones dedicated to coverage of energy, barbecue, tacos, outdoor pursuits, Texas music, and Texas critters.
